Remauro Calls on Cuomo & Health Officials to Acknowledge People with Natural Antibodies

Insisting on only one form of increased immunity is not right, not supported by science, and unfair to those who have suffered through COVID and recovered.

Staten Island, New York: Leticia Remauro, Republican and Conservative candidate for Borough President is calling on Governor Andrew Cuomo and city and state health officials to acknowledge those who have natural antibodies after recovering from COVID as being equal to those who have antibodies generated by the COVID vaccines.

Said Remauro, “My family and I recovered from COVID 19 in April of 2020. Thirteen months later, our antibody levels are higher than they were after the recovery and on par with those who have received the vaccine, yet Governor Cuomo and his health officials are not lifting restrictions for us. This is unjust and must be corrected immediately.”

Remauro was tested for antibodies in May of 2020 at which time her level was 94.8. In May of 2021 her antibody level rose to 134 even though she continued to have negative COVID tests. The same held true for members of her family.

Remauro continued, “There are millions of COVID survivors who have built up natural antibodies against the disease, but no one is acknowledging us or including us in future COVID prevention planning or reopening plans. How can we trust government officials to guide us out of this pandemic if they are not following the science? We should not be forced to receive a vaccine for the sake of expediency or because it complicates their messaging. A simple blood test will reveal whether or not someone has natural antibodies. We should be treating people with natural antibodies equally to those who have received the vaccine.”

“Insisting on only one form of increased immunity is not right, not supported by science, and unfair to those who have suffered through COVID and recovered,” Remauro concluded.
