In Dec 2014 at an MTA hearing Leticia spoke out about lowering Staten Island tolls.
Staten Island Community Board 1 Chair Leticia Remauro asked the MTA board, “Why is Staten Island the most expensive borough to visit in New York City?” She suggested that the city could make more money aggressively
tolling those looking to drive to attractions in Manhattan or Brooklyn.
“There are nothing like Broadway shows…or the world’s most expensive burger [on Staten Island]. Yet somehow the MTA feels that it’s worthy of a $15 price tag to enter. The logic escapes me.”
