Leticia Remauro Advocates for the Creation of the Empire Outlets to Bring Jobs and Commerce to Staten Island

In October of 2014, Leticia Remauro gave an interview in which she discussed all of the work that she was doing as the chair of Community Board 1 to open up the Empire Outlets, New York City’s first outlet mall, on Staten Island in order to bring job opportunities and revenue to the borough.

“We believe that we need to think not as Staten Islanders but as visitors of Staten Island,” said board chair Leticia Remauro.

“What can we do to make their experience better? How can we facilitate them not only coming off of the ferry to visit, but to get them into Staten Island.”
